Christmas is behind us and 2018 is on the horizon. It’s a good time to reflect on 2017 and what better way than with some 2017 Nürburgring highlights?
The folks over at the Auto Addiction YouTube channel have a nice video of 2017 Nürburgring highlights and it’s not just crashes at Brünnchen. Watch the whole thing for baby seats in McLarens, bare asses mooning the crowd and hearses doing laps!
If you do want a crash compilation, Auto Addiction has you covered there too with an entire hour of them!
Finally, if you want to see those whose luck didn’t run out in 2017, check out their near misses video.
You’ve heard of DriveTribe, right? It’s Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond & James May’s new social network for automotive enthusiasts. Green Hell Guides is pleased to announce that we now have a tribe on DriveTribe. We’re just getting started, but all of you Nürburgring enthusiasts are invited. It doesn’t matter where you’re from or how few or how many times you’ve been, come join other enthusiasts with a shared passion for everything Nürburgring!
DriveTribe goes live Monday, November 28 for the general public, so if you don’t have a pre-launch code, don’t despair. Just head over on Monday and join the party! Either way, join our tribe when you get there.
Green Hell Guides On DriveTribe:
You probably had a difficult time accessing the site today as a vast number of xmlrpc scans were hitting the site either as a denial of service attach or as an attempt to gain access to the site. We appear to have the source of this traffic blocked at this point. We apologize for the length of time it took us to get things under control!
To cap the week off and start the long weekend off right, here are a few things you might have missed earlier in the week:
First up, everyone’s favorite taxi driver, Top Gear guest and Nürburgring racer Sabine Schmitz tries out the new Porsche GT3 at an airstrip to see how it compares to her personal GT3:
Then we have good news for all you PC sim racers out there. RSR Nürburg and Assetto Corsa are collaborating on getting the Nordschleife into the Assetto Corsa sim.
I’ve always loved the NSX. I can remember the concept car getting all the coverage from Road & Track, Car and Driver and the other magazines I read back in college. I had a t-shirt I got from Jackson Racing back when I was autocrossing the Civic 1500s and later a CRX Si featuring a yellow NSX. It’s on my dream garage list for sure!
The fine folks over at Jalopnik posted this video of the new one testing at The Nürburgring Nordschleife. Another thing I love about a trip to The Nürburgring is you never know what cool stuff will be going on. It’s so unique to have a place where public driving, track days, manufacturer testing and racing all go on so mixed together.
